But his sporting career could yet continue with the forward revealing a move into wrestling is still very much a possibility.

‘I’ll be following up on that soon – so it could go up or down depending on the outcome of that.

‘I can’t tell you a direct percentage in terms of that [coming to fruition], but it’s something I’m really passionate about, so watch this space, people.’

Akinfenwa, who is the strongest man on FIFA 21, also revealed which Premier League footballers he’d like to get in the ring with.

‘In terms of a Royal Rumble that’s something I’d want to win obviously – and there’s some tough lads out there, you know.

‘VVD [Virgil van Dijk] is in there all day long and [Adama] Traore of course. [Sebastian] Haller has to be in too, he’s a very strong guy, then there’s the likes of Troy Deeney and [Michael] Antonio.

‘Whoever I haven’t mentioned they can get at me later, but I back myself 100 per cent!’

The striker is currently injured but is hoping to make an impact when he returns with Gareth Ainsworth’s side having lost all four of their Championship matches so far this season.
